Audigo Microphone
I’ve been recording music in a home studio for around two decades now, and while the gear has evolved, most of my routine has remained surprisingly unchanged. Apple’s Voice Memos app for iPhone has been a large part of that formula for saving ideas, so when I realized Audigo’s stylish little trapezoid mic requires a proprietary app, I was somewhat skeptical. I needn’t have been. Once I finally made the switch to the Audiogo as my go-to demo creator, I never looked back.
The design is brilliantly basic, with the mic offering around six hours of battery time, a magnetic stand attachment, and simple setup and operation. The app is intuitive, making it easy to lay down tracks and share them in your preferred file type, with available multi-tracking for more intricate ideas. The sound is clear, and the input is adjustable so you won’t hit the red, ensuring you can lay down a good take quickly, and it’s handy for video applications. Everything just works, and the results are a big improvement over your phone alone, making for an excellent way to capture and collaborate. —Ryan Waniata
